Originally from Vincennes, Indiana, Sidney earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southern Indiana and completed economics study at Hochschule Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in Osnabruck, Germany. Sidney received her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, where she served in the Robert & Sue Ellen Ackerson Law Clinic representing survivors in domestic violence and domestic relations matters.

Sidney is dual-licensed: Indiana (2018) and Kentucky (2019). She is an active member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, and Louisville Bar Association.
